The Milky Way Galaxy over the Dinosaur National Monument.
The Monument straddles the east border of Utah and the west border of Colorado.
Iceland is another planet. An alien world. Visiting the country one can imagine standing on Io, Europa and Callisto – 3 moons of Jupiter.
Io is a volcanic moon. Europa is an ice planet. And Callisto has an lifeless dark surface, not unlike the image above. Life on an alien world.
While driving on Rte 1, aka “The Ring Road”,
and somewhere between Hof and Fjallsarlon Glacial Lagoon in Iceland on the east coast,
I saw these mountains and clouds. My question is, how long before I return?
Nighttime at the Delicate Arch in Arches National Park near Moab, Utah.
Many folks know about the El Capitan in Yosemite National Park in California,
but…..there’s another one in Arizona. It’s on Rte 163 between Kayenta, AZ and Monument Valley.
Have no idea which one was named first, but both are beautiful.
The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco covered in fog.
Photograph made sometime in the morning on a visit to
San Francisco several years ago.
The waterfalls in my hometown – Paterson, New Jersey.
“The Falls”, as it is known to the city’s inhabitants, is a source of pride and history.
The city has a rich history – it was America’s first industrial city.
It is home to many famous people, including a favorite comedian of mine, Lou Costello
(of Abbott and Costello fame).
Locomotive engines were built here that were world renown. One of the first submarines was
launched from the Passaic River. New York City Theater plays would open in Paterson first.
It was known as “Silk City” (before the advent of artificial fibers).
The list goes on and on.
Morning Fog in Provincetown.
Boats, a bird and a red ball covered in the Cape Cod Bay.
The photograph was made close to MacMillan Pier.
The Navajo Nation is home to Monument Valley. One of the most beautiful places
and backdrop for countless movies – John Ford’s “The Searchers, “Back to the Future III” –
to name a few. I visited in 2006 and will be returning this summer.
